Spring Triolet
by Nancy Ness

I saw a golden crocus yesterday
Through February’s coverlet of snow
With petals stretched for warmth of sunshine’s ray
I saw a golden crocus yesterday
I surely hope a robin lights today
As spring’s first blush, proud ocherous breast to show
I saw a golden crocus yesterday
Through February’s coverlet of snow
