A Peaceful Sonnet
by Nancy Ness

Ours not to know what life's travail e'er deems;
Its path wends on, immune to our suggest.
For whence our hearts find inner peace, it seems
Encumbrance falls, our sanctity to wrest.
Aplomb succumbs to yet another test.
The choice is naught; each burden's our endow.
Yet strength's renewed; our blighted days are Blessed
To conquer hardships laden to our brow.
Best kneel before His Grace in humble bow
In times when tribulations overtake.
Eternal peace, this gospel His avow;
Our prayers and needs are met. He'll not forsake.

The light of God will shine upon each day;
Believe in Him, for He shall show the way
