Sixty-five Years
by Velma M. Carlson

Sitting in the twilight, long after
the sun goes
down
Just thinking of all the wonderful times we had

  Nearly sixty-five years

The time went so fast – we were so young
It was many years ago, but we sort of
Grew up with our children
It was fun – we love it so!

  Nearly sixty-five years

Our golden years have come and gone
It’s twilight now; there are no tears.
We lived our life with love and cheers.

  Nearly sixty-five years

Let me not forget to thank God for all
The blessings we received
In our long life together – Only in
Him
Do we firmly believe

  Nearly sixty-five years....
