She Loved Me
by Velma M. Carlson

When I went to Church this morning
Feeling very low and blue
As I walked in, I heard a voice
Say hello and “I love you”
Then my spirits seemed to soar
Just like a bird on wings;
The tears that I felt coming
Somehow changed my fear of things.
I knew then that someone cared
That I was not alone – I knew
That friend meant what she said:
And I was overjoyed.
Her smile was like a lot of sunshine.
She looked as happy as could be.
But, the part that I shall always
Remember is –
She said that she loved me.
